Dear All: My name is Wayne ,Living in Taipei,Taiwan, ROC. please forgive my bad English , Sorry to disturb all of you .
I have a 2012 CBR600F ABS(PC41R),nice bike ,very balance(sport & street) , unfortunately I & many Bikers in Taiwan CBR600F club found it had front break noise problem ,especially in ABS type ,and most cases unearthly in left side ,dose anyone have same problem like those noise videos in Europe there?
Why most cases occur in the left side ?and ABS Type? Why need to run over 7000Km the noise just disappear gradually ? But When you change the new pad ,the nightmare voice will happen once again!!
We thing that is 100% break calipers seat production Line design defects.
Now We will appeal this problem to the HONDA Japan company , In particular, we like to know other areas CBR600F ABS(PC41R 2011~)whether have same problem like we found ? those Important information can help me to analysis ,hope HONDA can deal with free and responsibility .
Will some one enthusiastic people add up the same case in here please? and appeal this problem to the HONDA Europe ? We need to ally to ask ours right together ,agree ?
Thank you very much!

Hello Wayne,
Welcome on this forum
Really nice bike you have !!!
I'have got the same one with ABS braking system but I've never hear something wrong :| That it is but even if we've got the same bike, it's possible there is some differences due to europeans law and norms extremly restrictive in Europe (and France !)

Thanks every one :P
Dear Tiger ,Those PC-41R in my country(Taiwan,ROC.) ,All comes from Italy ,My Bike is 2012 CBR600F ABS Type ,And yours?
I ask Club members in Taiwan, Most PC-41R ABS Type owners have the same noise problem , So i am very curious in Europe here ,Had same situation?
BTW, I ask owner in Brazil my friend yesterday ,He told me his PC-41R ABS Type had same noise problem too, Incredible right? So can you help me to contact other PC-41R ABS Type owers in Europe ,Ask everyone owners ,And tell they all about this information!
Thanks a lot ,Tiger

Your bike is really beautiful !!!...
... except your big license plate !!! It's worse than in France !!!
My bike is a CBR 600 FA 2011 with PC41A motor type.
Just by Europe, there is 3 differents models of the Same CBR 600 FA : one for France, One for United Kindom et an other one for the rest of Europe (you can see all differents models here : http://www.bike-parts.fr/honda-moto-model-CBR-600-2012.html ). That can explained by local law (for example in France, motorbike with more than 100hp are forbidden) or product allowed (for example, asbestos is forbiden in Europe but allowed in the rest of the world).
Maybe your brake pad have a part (like asbestos) allowed in Taiwan or Brazil but not in Europe.
You should try to change your brake pad for europeans ones. ;)

Dear Tiger:
About the Taiwan's motor license Plate, We fightted and statemented by anyway to government arduously but invalid, It is a tragedy :+mad:
Like i say, PC-41R in my country(Taiwan,ROC.)all comes from Italy, Taiwan hasn't HONDA MOTOR Agent(Because small market scope and high tax here ), Just genuine parallel import, In other words, We ride Italy's PC-41R not Taiwan's PC-41R, Those break pads in motor are Italy's specification.
https://youtu.be/qrvQgGdP10g Above video was recorded at my bike change sbs 828 break pads first day, But noise same OEM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW5vQEqANi0 Above video is another owner's PC-41R with OEM break pads, Over 6500Km, OMG! Still has huge noise  , same the famous sbs828 break pads.
BTW, In Taiwan PC-41R owner club, We have LCR GIVI look, HRC look, REPSOL look even YAMAHA look , very very Interesting But very high price here, PC-41R ABS type cost 13,795(EUR) :+pleurs:

Hi wayne,
Welcome in France.
I have experienced the same problem but on a different bike with floating calipers as you have cbr 1000 f. It seems that your brake pads wear is irregular, maybe because of the shims that you added on the caliper mounting bolts.
This noise is very common on bikes equipped with fixed calipers (all ducati with Brembo), the issue is resonance of A pad on the disc. I insist on the A, the problem always disappear when you brake. The noise come from one pad vibrating along the disc instead of moving away from it.
On the fixed caliper, the solution is to chamfer the pads on the first centimetre to prevent resonance. Sometime, It's also due to misalignment of disc and caliper.
On the floating caliper , as yours, many tricks exists: - ensure the pads move freely in the caliper and on the caliper frame. Particularly the pad spring (ref 45108-MBT-D52) and the thin metal shim between pad lug and caliper frame (ref 45112-MZ2-006) must keep the pad free. - you can try the noise without these pieces, it should prevent the pad to touch the disc. the pad spring is not mandatory, but recommended for long trip on highways, you can bend it to make it less strong. - The other piece is here to prevent the friction between caliper frame (alloy) and pad (steel). if it does not allow the pad moving, slightly reduce the pads lug height with a grinder to ease the move. - finally ensure the caliper is well moving on the spindles, use copper grease on the sliding spindle
-Last chance, put your 3 pot Nissin caliper to the bin and post mount other brand of caliper
Hope it will help

Dear batmou 83:
Thank you for all your assistance, But i am not familiar with machinery, so please let me dear with TAIWAN CBR600F Owner to discuss your suggestion, very thanks.
『It seems that your brake pads wear is irregular, maybe because of the shims that you added on the caliper mounting bolts.』 Sorry Misleading you, The over 4000Km OEM brake pads was factory setting without any adjustment, So why wear irregular like the photo? I don't kown.
After taken off The old OEM brake pads, and Put the new sbs brake pads on, The Terrible noise(Only in left side, the right is quiet good) increasingly loud and loud, It make me crazy, So i put the shims added on the caliper mounting bolts with skilled workers suggestion, Now it is more quiet, But if OEM break calipers seat has production Line design defects, HONDA must apology and replace all the defect parts free, I insist on.
Dear Tiger:
Right, chinese 韋谷立 is me BTW i browse you photos, and find another two CBR600F ABS Bikes, Please talk to them my guestion, Thanks

Wayne,
I'd like to add some info for your better understanding, tell me if I was not clear.
The incredible noise appears when you are not braking and a pad is vibrating (resonance) on the disc. To have such resonance, the pad must touch the disc on the complete length.
As you can see on your used pads, the wear is not homogenous, this is bad for your system efficiency, but it is good for your noise problem (natural misalignment of pads), that's why the noise disappear after thousands of km. When you put new pads (OEM or SBS), the noise is back again. You solution to add 2mm and 1mm shims is to create the same misalignment of caliper (and pads) with disc. It's functioning but not mechanically good, as your braking force is not spread equally on the pots, on the pad and on the disc.
My proposed solutions:
Try to remove the pad springs and pad lug plate. test it, if it's Ok you found the cause.
You can also test the solution used for fixed calipers, by chamfer the pad lining at a 45° angle on the leading edge of the pad. This solution may or may not function on your pads as you have 4 pads in one.
An other solution, full Sinter pads would not vibrate as they are softer, but you must change your pads more frequently
I don't know how are the Honda services in Taiwan, but for us in France, Honda would never admit this. It's not dangerous, it's not a safety issue, just comfort, so they would decline any claim for that.

Dear batmou 83:
Thank you for your valuable suggestions again, but because I'm busy , can not immediately follow your suggestion to experiment , I'm sorry to live up to your enthusiastic.
Fortunately, there are just a riders also are dealing with the same problem , I told him your suggestions methods, and he also tried a few of the recommendations, Here are a few photos for you to see.
According to the results of his experiments , unfortunately the noise persists!
2、『by chamfer the pad lining at a 45° angle on the leading edge of the pad. This solution may or may not function on your pads as you have 4 pads in one.』
According to the results of his experiments , unfortunately the noise persists!
3、『An other solution, full Sinter pads would not vibrate as they are softer, but you must change your pads more frequently』
According to the results of his experiments , This seems to be the likely cause , because he used to make the OEM pads noise is not so big, But for a new sbs pads a lot of noise becomes larger, These two materials are not the same,Perhaps the pad material cause of the problem.
But there is a very strange place , you see the old pads , the two sides pads are very different degree of wear, Especially on the left caliper, Why?Dose floating disc or Pistons output is not normal?
I tried a hand to flip the floating discs , but feel it is very tight, I could not move it , seems to have been fixed , Is this normal?

Hello guys, was anyone able to resolve this issue? I just faced it with my Honda CBR600F ABS 2012, when changed brake pads. I've tried these two: Brembo 07HO57SA TRW MSW 283 RAC but without success.
Could anyone advice, what should I change to avoid this terrible noise, please?
